There is one thing that bothers me as I examine the views of the supporters for Noynoy's candidacy. The supporters of the said presidential candidate are accenting not his political advocacy and achievement but those of his renowned parents. There has been an evident, if not, unconscious attempt, to draw parallels against the situation faced by his parents during Marcos' dictatorship and Noynoy Aquino's current circumstances. This seems to be entirely placing him under the mantle of his parent's political legacy.
Noynoy’s lack of involvement in corruption scandals and any high-profile role in the horse trading and other opportunist maneuvering inherent in the decadent political order are said to be the good thing about him. But that DOESN'T MEAN that our country will be free of corruption. I think if Noy Noy will be given a chance to seat as our President, it means MORE MONEY for OTHER OFFICIALS.
Mr. Aquino’s lack of preparedness for the requirements of being Chief Executive, was cited not only by Malacañang and his detractors but also by his own close-knit family. Once more, the example of his mother, the plain-housewife-turned-opposition-leader, is offered to controvert the arguments against him. On faith, we are supposed to accept the line that if Cory could do it, so can NoyNoy. Why do we have to level everything about NoyNoy according to his parent's past. My opinion is just this: HE AIN'T READY FOR 2010!
